The Shamrock is a minty brown/green Irish Martini. I’ve served plenty of these on Saint Patrick’s day, however, I much prefer the Irish shot or a pint of Guinness for myself.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Irish Whiskey

  • 1/4 oz. Green Crème de Menthe

  • 1/4 oz. of Dry Vermouth

  • 1 Mint Leaf or Sprig of Mint

Directions

  • Add Dry Vermouth to Martini Glass, swish it around and pour the Vermouth out.
  • Add Irish Whiskey and Green Crème de Menthe to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake until Ice Cold and strain into your Vermouth laced Martini Glass
  • Garnish with a spring of Mint

Notes

  • The original 1930s recipe calls for Green Chartreuse which I have omitted as the flavours only gets lost in this cocktail and it doesn’t make the cocktail all that greener. (plus I’ve never worked at a few bar that carried Green Chartreuse).
