Bliss on the Beach Cocktail

The Bliss on the Beach Cocktail is made with vodka, peach schnapps, crème de cassis, orange juice and cranberry juice. This is a very fruity cocktail that is sweet, colourful and fun.

The Bliss on the Beach is a take on the Sex on the Beach cocktail, in that it adds crème de cassis. If you are making this at home and don’t have any crème de cassis on hand, no worries, use a drizzle of Grenadine. The end result won’t necessarily taste the same, however, it’ll still taste sweet, delicious and it will look pretty. If you are at a bar, however, use a high quality Crème de Cassis for this cocktail.

What is Crème de Cassis

Crème de Cassis is a concentrated liqueur made from black currants. Many brands are available on shelves, however, you do need to be wary of inferior brands. Inferior brands will have less fruit and sugar making them taste bland and weak. Good Crème de Cassis tastes jammy and will still taste rich and add a luxurious red to any cocktail it is added to.

You can tell you have a good brand of Crème de Cassis by how sticky it is. To test this in a shop, turn the bottle upside down and then right side up. A good Crème de Cassis will cling to the sides of the bottle, much like jam might. Poor Crème de Cassis will run down the sides fairly quickly.

Never purchase poorly made Crème de Cassis. It is not worth your money and will add no value to your cocktails.
